Your Brown Shaver chicks will arrive at just one day old and will need warmth, quality nutrition and good care while they grow.
Over the following weeks they’ll develop into active young pullets, learning to perch, forage and explore as they mature.
At approximately 18 weeks of age (around 18 weeks from the hatch date), they’ll begin coming into lay. While the exact timing varies with the season and daylight hours, you can expect your first eggs soon after.
Brown Shavers are bred for outstanding performance and, with good nutrition and management, can average around 300 eggs per year, making them an excellent choice for both backyard flocks and small lifestyle blocks.
