Note – deliveries for chicks are only currently available to: Oamaru, Waimate, Timaru. If you live further afield, please get in touch to see if we can make something work to get them to you.

Description

These chicks are for delivery on Wednesday 27th November 2024 from our collection points in Oamaru, Waimate or Timaru.

We receive our brown shaver day-old chicks from a reputable hatchery here in the South Island. They are sexed before arrival (all female), and they’ve been vaccinated against Marek’s disease as well as had their first dose of a salmonella vaccine.

Chickens are flock animals, so we strongly recommend purchasing a minimum of three.

Until they grow feathers (approximately six weeks), chicks will require a reliable heat source such as a heat plate or lamp.

We are happy to advise you on options for a cosy, warm set-up and send you in the right direction for any other goods you may need to purchase before your chicks arrive – please get in touch with any queries you may have.
